South Florida has done very well in 2018 in regard to commercial real estate. Some top tenants in the state are located within South Florida, making it a great place to invest if you’re planning to buy real estate.

While South Florida was not chosen for Amazon’s regional headquarters, that hasn’t stopped other major brands from relocating or opening there. Tenants come from all sorts of markets, which is great if you have office space to sell or rent.

One of the major leases went to World Fuel Services, which expanded into a 133,000-square-foot building this year. This was the largest office-space lease this year. Another company, AutoNation, rented space and renewed its lease in Fort Lauderdale. The office is a 105,000-square-foot headquarters for the company. It’s within a mixed-use building, which means that other tenants are also located within the same structure.

Among health care giants is Aetna, which also chose to make South Florida its home at the Plantation Walk development. This is the office’s first tenant, which is a move likely caused by the CVS takeover of the company. There are plans to have several units in the building for Aetna’s Medicaid, Medicare and International divisions.

These are just a few of the major players who have moved into the South Florida area lately.
