When buying a home, it’s important to order a home inspection. This will give you a better idea of the condition of the property, thus putting you in position to negotiate any repairs that may be necessary to move the process forward.

- Assuming that a new construction home is perfect. Many new homes have defects, so you should always order an inspection.
- Neglecting to hire a specialist. A home inspector can point out problems, but you may need to call in a specialist to learn more. For example, if the inspector believes that you need a new roof, call in a roofing company to provide more detailed information.
You don’t want to make any type of home inspection mistake, as it can cost you a lot of money in the long run.
Along with this, don’t assume that the seller is being completely honest at all times. He or she could be withholding information in an attempt to keep you in the dark about a problem that may scare you away.
