Trade secrets are different than trademarks and copyrights, and it's often a bit harder to protect them. For example, the formula that your company uses to make a cleaning product could be a trade secret. Your techniques for combining the different ingredients may also be a secret. Depending on the industry, secrets may also include certain patterns or processes.

Legislators petition for revocation of Havana Club trademark

A 25-member bipartisan delegation within the Florida Congress has called for the Trump administration to issue an executive revocation of a Cuban company's Havana Club registered trademark. Bicardi America, the American-owned company who bought the original rum recipe from Cuban exiles, maintains the shared names and trademark make it difficult to maintain brand equity.
